Zoe Ann Holmes
As a lifelong learner, Mrs. Holmes has a passion for the educational process for students of all ages. As a teacher, she was able to serve students in grades K-9. Receiving her master’s degree in educational leadership with a principal’s license through the University of Northern Colorado allowed Mrs. Holmes to continue the goal of providing a great education for students and supporting the hard work of teachers and staff, as part of her dream to leave a legacy through education.
When not working to serve the CSCA community, Mrs. Holmes finds joy with family, traveling, reading, volunteering, advocating, and making a difference while building relationships.
Dean of Academics & Culture
Lisa Rafferty
Mrs. Rafferty has spent nearly thirty years in various school settings filling a myriad of roles. From assistant principal, college and career advisor, and instructional coach, to reading interventionist, teacher, and teacher’s aide, there has been no task too big or too small in which her passion for impacting others isn’t fueled. In those years and with her graduate work in education, she learned essential strategies about how to optimize class time, how to support all learners, how to interact with all stakeholders on discipline issues, and how to thrive in the current challenges teachers face. As the Dean of Culture at CSCA, she is committed to motivate and inspire educators to do the same, while also shaping the hearts of our students. She has been married thirty years, has four grown children, and owns a Cavapoo named Ollie. When not at school, she enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, and investing in college aged students in her husband’s gap year program.
Business Director
Deborah Black
Mrs. Black is a native of Colorado Springs and has a great love for the city. For over 30 years, she has mentored and worked with young people in various capacities. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Advertising and has spent the majority of her career in marketing and graphic design. For 8 years, she owned her own business, which focused on assisting small businesses and non-profits in the Pikes Peak area. Mrs. Black is certified to access teenage facilities across Colorado and has been trained in trafficking prevention. She is also a Mandatory Reporter of Child Abuse and Neglect in the state of Colorado. Additionally, she is certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid, Adverse Childhood Experiences, and is a Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Mrs. Black has been married for 30 years and has three adult children and one grandchild. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, interacting with animals (especially dogs), reading, and spending quality time with her family.
Data Accountability/IT Manager
Kevin Dolley
Kevin Dolley graduated from Adams State University. He taught Physical Education and Technology classes for K-12 students for twelve and a half years. At the same time, he was tasked with the acquisition, repairs, and maintenance of over 200 computers and the building of a school computer network. He received the school's first ever Teacher of the Year award as voted on by his peers. Kevin also coached boys' and girls' basketball teams to six league championships in seven years. After his departure from teaching, Kevin worked as a banker at USAA for a year, he then returned to education but this time on the administrative side. Kevin now works at Colorado Springs Charter Academy as the Data Accountability and IT Manager and is entering his sixth year with the school. He enjoys being around the students and staff.
Office Manager
Amber Davis
Amber Davis has been a part of the CSCA family for over 8 years. She started her time at CSCA as a parent, she then started working with PTO and became the PTO president, 2 years after that she started working for CSCA as the front desk receptionist, this year she became the elementary office manager. She also coaches our girl's volleyball team in the fall and runs camps for volleyball throughout the year. She has a lot of love for this school and our students and is investing in helping CSCA grow and thrive.
Middle School Administrative Assistant
Leslie Lancaster
Leslie Lancaster has taken much pride in working in the school setting for the past 20 years, which started in Wyoming and has led her to CSCA, where the staff and students have grown near and dear to her heart! She enjoys the beautiful Colorado (near perfect) weather and walking with her dogs. She thrives to make the school welcoming and "homey" for the staff, students, parents and the public and thoroughly ENJOYS coming in every day!
Middle School Dean of Students
Jorge Zapata
Mr. Zapata graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a degree in Organizational Leadership. He worked as a Director of Connections in one of the fastest-growing churches in South Florida, leading volunteers and serving families around the community.
Before joining CSCA, he worked as a foreign language teacher in a classical charter school from k-5. While there he developed a passion for students learning and thriving in their academic pursuits.
As Dean, Mr. Zapata would like to foster a supportive and inclusive school environment. He aims to improve student behavior and promote social-emotional learning through various school programs and activities.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, he enjoys spending time with his family, going on trips to different places in Colorado, and playing Spanish music on his guitar.
Mr. Zapata’s vision for CSCA is one of growth, innovation, and character-building. He is committed to preparing students for the challenges of the future while maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence.
