Sarah Shaffer has been an integral part of the CSCA community for seven years, having relocated to Colorado Springs due to her husband's job. With a Master's Degree in Education and a background as an elementary teacher, Sarah is excited to contribute to the school's new era. Beyond her teaching experience, she dedicated five years to volunteering with International Justice Mission, combating human trafficking and violence against the poor. Sarah's belief in servant-leadership and a global perspective led her to lead service-learning trips to Vietnam. When not involved in board-related work or supporting her daughters' activities, she enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, and embracing "Shaffer Shenanigans."

As the former City Councilwoman for District 5 in Colorado Springs, Jill Gaebler is a constant advocate for a connected and safe community. During her 8 years on City Council, Jill focused her work on multimodal transportation, attainable housing, downtown development, and local food production.Prior to her Council service, Jill spent 6 years as the Development Director at Greccio Housing, a local affordable-housing nonprofit. Additionally, she co-founded Colorado Springs Charter Academy, a public school in District 5, and has served on many community boards, to include: The Pikes Peak Library District’s Board of Trustees, the Downtown Development Authority, the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments, The Colorado Municipal League, Homeward Pikes Peak, and The Front Range Passenger Rail Commission. Jill arrived in Colorado Springs in 2000 after serving seven years as an Air Force officer, where she worked as a contracting officer. She and her husband of 33 years, live in the Patty Jewett neighborhood. They have two adult children, a son, who resides in Colorado Springs and works as a data analyst, and a daughter, who is currently in medical school. She is very proud and grateful for her kids and the education they received at CSCA. Jill received her bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Arizona.

Aster Klein was born and raised in Mexico where she earned her bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. She worked as a math teacher at the local college and as an engineer for the semiconductor industry for 12 years in Mexico and the United States. She immigrated to the United States in 2001 and since 2009, after her oldest son was born, she has dedicated her time to raising her two boys.

From 2015 to 2019 she had the opportunity to be part of PTO in another charter school in Colorado Springs where, with the rest of the organization, she created a series of school events and fundraisers with the intention of bringing the school community together. She has been part of CSCA’s community since 2019.

She is passionate about education, especially if is related to STEAM and languages. Her goal as part of the Board of Directors team is to provide the resources and environment for students, teachers, and the entire school community to thrive.

She loves spending time in nature with her husband and sons, especially hiking and camping, and as much as possible, they look for opportunities to volunteer in the community.
